The Paderno Company in conjunction with the City of Summerside, McCallum Bagpipes and The House of Bagpipes present The College of Piping Indoor Competition to be held on Saturday, April 30th and Sunday, May 1st at the The Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre at Loyalist Country Inn in Summerside, PEI.

Competition events on Saturday (beginning at 9AM) will be Junior Amateur Piobaireachd, Senior Amateur Piobaireachd and Senior Amateur March/Strathspey/Reel; and starting at 1PM will be the Practice Chanter and Drum Pad events.

The C.O.P. Indoor Competition will feature a new trio contest which will start Saturday night at 7PM with money prizes going to the top three trios. There will also be a draw for a set of McCallum Bagpipes during evening Trio Contest Event donated courtesy of McCallum Bagpipes and The House of Bagpipes.

The Trio event is unique in that while each entry must have three competitors, one must be a bagpiper; the other two performers/musicians can be pipers, drummers, or highland dancers. Each Trio will have a time limit of three to five minutes and their selection of music/dance is left to their discretion.

All competitors should abide by the Atlantic Canada Pipe Band Associations Rules and Regulations.

Entries are due no later than Friday, April 15th, 2005. No phone or e-mail entries will be accepted. The order of play shall be in keeping with the practice that the last to register is first to play. No refunds will be given.
