Barry Ewan expresses concern about the level of judges on the panel. He asks that two additional names be removed, one of whom gave perfect marks to a band because he thought it might encourage the band to work harder. Drummers regraded along the lines presented by Neil McKenna. Stornaway competitions agreed to go graded. The first Champion Supreme Bands were named based on their performances at competitions across the province. These are Grade 1 - Antigonish Legion "A", Grade 2 - MacDougall Girls tied with Heather Society, and Grade 3 - Antigonish Legion "B". Association agreed that the tie should be broken by piping preference, giving the Grade 2 title to Heather Society of St. John, N. B. Piping and pipe bands have improved a great deal in the past four years, according to Barry Ewen and Danny MacIntyre, judges.

Scott Williams presents draft of revisions to the constitution. Copies to be sent to all bands for study. Request for financial assistance turned down by Department of Recreation. Association to appeal.

The Maritime Band Festival, Moncton, N. B. asks to become a sanctioned event. Agrees to follow Association rules and to cover costs of steward and three others who will oversee the running of their pipe band events. Rothesay Highland Games asks for the same but is approved for one trial year only.

Three bands to go to Ottawa next June to participate in the Canadian Inter-provincial and Canadian Open Pipe Band Championships.
